It generates the method of an ongoing PhD research on understanding the concept of void in architecture with an interdisciplinary approach. It discusses architecture through an intangible concept and this discussion evolves into an interactive lexicon based on relational concepts adopted from different disciplines. This open-ended lexicon will be updated constantly and can be followed via the website.

meshwithME, 2017

An installation proposal for underbridge sites to discuss urban vacancies and the role of architecture. It stands on the viewpoint that interprets architecture as a means of creating meaningful void rather than filling it. It offers to “mesh with” such urban voids and urban life both architecturally, culturally and socially.

Does architecture fill urban vacancies by building?

Is architecture supposed to be discussed on the basis of fullness?

Can architecture create meaningful void?

Can this void open a new space for new architectural approaches?

plays in urban vacancies, 2013

This work is a part of collage series which is a kind of reaction to the urban policies in Turkey. With Gezi Resistance, the government understood it as a kind of play to turn to violence against the public who resisted for their city and environment. Against this disproportioned violence by policemen, it says: “Sometimes we can play disproportioned games.”
